Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend in Bear Lake. It was quiet and the weather has pretty good. We were able to go up Thursday, since Seth got Good Friday off. That extra day always makes the weekend better.
The kids were excited for Easter. We had a great time dying eggs Friday night so the Easter bunny could put them in our baskets.





The Easter Bunny came to us on Saturday so that we could have fun and save Sunday for our spiritual Easter. We liked this a lot. He was also very generous and gave each of the kids a big toy to go along with their baskets.









We had a great time having the whole field to ourselves for our Easter Egg Hunt. I thought I had filled and hid so many eggs, but I was proven wrong as my kids ran and attacked them. They found them all and had most of them dissected and eaten within minutes. I'll have to up my game next year! :)


Chloe LOVED the idea of being able to eat as many treats as she wanted. I just think she was a little disappointed that there wasn't more chocolate! :)

Sam learned that he could eat his treats faster if he just dumped the whole thing into his mouth! He really is turning into quite the little man!

The Boys were so excited about the scooters and had to try them out right away. Chloe loved her golf set and doesn't have a problem letting anyone know it's "mine." :)

I just had to get a shot of Seth's awesome get up. There is nothing hotter than a very white man pushing a baby in a ghetto stroller while wearing basketball shorts and dress shoes! How'd I ever get so lucky! :)

On our drive home we always like to see what wildlife we can see. We have seen moose, deer, elk, bald eagles, hawks, cows, horses, sheep, giselles...
Well, this time we saw something so cool. There were these goats totally climbing up this straight up rock wall along the road. I've always heard about how goats can climb anything, now I know it's true. We just sat there and watched them. It was amazing.

When we got home I actually made my first Easter Dinner ever. It was so yummy. I was pretty proud of myself. I have made it a goal to improve my cooking skills and it has been fun to try and succeed with some new great things.


I left the kitchen before dinner was done and came back to this. So cute. Love my husband! :)

We finished our Easter Weekend with a fun "Family Night" Lesson to go over the reason of Easter. I loved this. It was fun to have the kids open the eggs, see the drawings and then look at the pictures and learn of Jesus and his mission on Earth. I loved teaching them about His ressurection and how we will live again with Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for this time of year. Just think. We dedicate a time each year to focus, study, and celebrate our Savior's love for us.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Growing up, we used to always hear my mom yell, "owww" from across the house as she would catch her little toe on something. Well, now my kids hear me yell it.

Nurturer

Chloe is my little nurturer. She was having so much fun the other day taking take of her dolly. It just made me smile to see her be all girly.

Kindergarten Orientation

I got to go with Sam to check out the Elementary School in our neighborhood to get his ready for Kindergarten. It was fun to see how excited he was.
I have been homeschooling Sam in preschool and it has been great. He is so quick to learn and very bright. I was hoping to keep him at home and continue with homeschooling, but he decided he wanted to go to school, so there we were.
The school's mascot is a dragon named Fireball. Sam thought that was so cool. I discovered that the librarian is my former nurse, so that was fun. We checked out all the kindergarten classrooms and Sam of course had to find a train in each one. There was one classroom with out one. Sam doesn't want to be in that class! :)

After the tour we meet in a large group to meet the principal, nurses and teachers. Then we moved on to the more exciting part. Activities!
He didn't want a pirate hat so he decided he'd make one for James.

Sam had fun tracing my hand and foot. I then traced his and he labeled each of them, just in case we needed clarification later of whose was whose! :)

My New Gang

I always think "after the fact" that I wish I would have taken pictures with some of the people I have worked with....So I finally did it. (Thankfully someone else was taking a picture and sparked a reminder in my brain!) We were downtown for a training and it seemed like the perfect time.
I just got called into the Primary Presidency in our Ward with some of my good friends, Melinda, Marnie, my new good friend, Emily, and Marisha (not pictured). I am so excited to be working with them and to be serving in my favorite place in the church. I am already learning and growing so much.

My Little Horder

James has always had a little niche for attaching himself to certain random items. It's been a comb and a brush, a spoon, a cookie cutter...
Well, this week it has become extreme. He has so many things that he wants with him that we can't even find HIM. His bed is so full I don't know how he manages to squeeze in. He'll even wake up if he loses the tiniest thing or can't find it.
Hopefully he'll grow out of it. It's cute (most of the time) but I do get tired of trying to find my tape, etc.

Our First Tea Party

The kid's cousin, Haley, had a Tea Party for her birthday, so we dressed up for the occasion. The boys got all decked out in their Tea Party best with their new bow ties we whipped up. Chloe sported her new Tea Party hat and all the "pretties" she could find.
We drank the best "tea" (squirt and sherbert punch) and ate cucumber, pbj, and bologna sandwiches that were cut up in triangles. We finished it off with cupcakes. It couldn't have been any better. We all had a blast.

My Girl

Chloe loves to dress up. She always seems to find the cutest things to dress up in make us laugh.
Last Sunday she wouldn't take off her red church shoes, so I left them on her while I went to get her new clothes. In the mean time she had gotten one of my hats and was parading around in it.

We made Chloe a cute little hat to get ready for her cousin's birthday tea party. She had to practice of course (and hasn't stopped since). :)

Weather Forecast: Snow

One of my kids favorite things for breakfast is "scones and snow." They love warm scones and they get to eat them with powdered sugar (which is why I think they like them so much!). Well, I got them breakfast and ran upstairs to get dressed.
Not realizing that I had left the tub of powdered sugar out....this is what I came down to. Needless to say Chloe had a little scone with her snow! :)

Family Walks

It has been so nice lately and we have taken advantage of the great weather for some fun family walks.
I would say that these walks are great exercise for our kids, but I think they more go for the fresh air! :)


I am so grateful for my kids and how they make me laugh each day.

Big Girl Bed

Chloe is already in a big girl bed and I can't believe it. She's had the bed in her rooms for months now and never expressed any desire to sleep in it....until now.
It is so cute seeing her tiny little body in such a big bed.
I can't believe that I don't have a baby in a crib! Such a big step for our little family.

Life-Sized Angry Birds Game

My sister had to go out of town for one of her son's baseball tournaments so I came down to her house for the weekend to take care of the rest of her kiddos. Seth had classes and tests, so we ditched him and headed out on our adventure.
We had a blast. My kids love going there and playing with their cousins and the weather was fabulous so we got to enjoy their amazing backyard.
I decided to have some extra fun with them and got my creative juices flowing. I made a "life sized" angry bird game for us to play. Who doesn't like angry birds, right?!
I bought some cheap kid balls and painted them up for the birds, spray painted come aluminum cans and painted pigs on them, printed out some TNT signs and grabbed a bunch of boxes we had laying around the garage (literally-we always have boxes laying around...that's an ebay life!) and set up the game.
We played for HOURS. My arm actually is sore from throwing those stinkin' birds at those pigs. We played so much we even lost a pig. We have no idea where it went! There is still a $1 for him! :)
