Just Looking for Some Sympathy

Just want everyone out there to sympathize with me.  This little girl may be cute, but she wakes up WAY too early!  Wish it weren't 5 a.m. right now!

Ward Halloween Party

The Primary got to be in charge of our ward's Halloween Party this year and I was super excited about that.  I always love a reason to party.  So, because of that today was quite the marathon day.  I had to go sing to Sam's class (I take my guitar in and sing with them every Friday), then run home, pack, get to the church, set up, run home and get the kids ready for Trick-or-Treating as Seth's work, do that, run home and make a cake and soup for the ward party, run back and finish setting and, and be at the party and then help clean up.  Yes.  One of my busiest days ever, but it all turned out so great.
Kristy came up with some great ideas for the decor and theme and we all ran with it.  I got to set up a really cute "photo booth" for pictures.  I was so happy with how it turned out.  I also got to bring all my Halloween games and have those for the kids to play.  It was a huge success and all the kids had a blast.  Tandy, a guy in our ward, also set up a fun (very mild) ghost walk (haunted house) for the kids.  They loved it.
It was a great night and one of the best Halloween parties ever.

The kids LOVING my games! ;)
This is where Chloe was while her parents freaked out and thought she was lost for like 10 minutes.  Little stinker!
Scared us as we waited for our turn in the ghost walk

Trick-or-Treating at Dad's Work

Seth's work did the coolest thing ever.  They had all the employee's children come trick-or-treating this afternoon.  I think I was especially excited about it because that meant I got to go see where Seth's works.  (I am such a bad wife.  I never went and visited his last office in Daybreak!)
The kids looked great in their costumes.  Chloe was a puppy (Snoopy), Sam was Superman and James was a zombie.  They had a blast.  They got to follow these big monster footprints that showed them the path that would pass by all the candy spots.  There was so much they had a full bucket's worth before we were done!
Sam was the most entertaining on this trip.  Seth's co-workers were passing out awesome candy.  You know the good stuff...snickers, twix...aka the good chocolate bars.  Well, if any of you know Sam, you know that he is the pickiest eater ever and he DOES NOT like chocolate.  So in the first office he blurted out, "I don't like any of these!"  I pulled him aside after that first stop and explained that it was okay if he didn't like them, he just had to take one and I would make sure that we traded it for one that he liked later.
So off we go to the next office and Sam politely says, "Trick-or Treat."  He is then offered the bowl to choose a candy.  He grabs a chocolate, turns to me a declares, "You'll trade this one for me later, right?!"  I then had to pull him aside again and explain that he was only allowed to say "trick-or-treat" and "thank you"!  It got better.  I think slowly we will be able to sensor our dear, sweet, super honest boy! :)

China Trip Eve

We had entered the very fun and expensive stage of loving Legos. So Seth and I decided there wasn't a better time to surprise our kids with some fun sets then right before we had to leave.

We had a fun night building Legos and playing with our kids.  Hopefully these will help them keep busy this week while we're gone.

Sam's First Story

I am very proud of Sam and how hard he is working in school.  He loves it and is very successful.  I was so proud of his at home project he did.  He did it all by himself with just a little help on some spelling.
Nice job bud!

Cooking up Some Spooky Fun

I've been having so much fun making and pulling together some fun Halloween games, activities, and crafts for all the parties that are coming up at the end of the month.  The Primary is over our ward's Halloween party and I am Sam's Room Mom, so I get to organize his class's party too.
I just love how these games turned out.
Here's my Halloween bowling.
 Mousey-Mouse Putt Putt
 Jack-o-Lantern Ping Pong Toss
 Witch's Hat Glow Ring Toss
Halloween Bingo, Don't Eat Pete, and Roll a Jack-o-Lantern
 Q-Tip Skeletons
I'm also going to read "The Goblin's'll Get'ch if Ya Don't Watch Out" and make Goblin paper bad puppets with Sam's Class.  This is the best book ever that my mom always read to us growing up.

The kids have been awesome quality testers for me.  I know these will be good and fun because they want to play them again and again.  This year we are definitely going to party it up!

A Better Croud

I guess we were boring Chloe today because she went and hung out with this other family at Seth's hockey game! :)

Fun Downtown

I had to go downtown today to exchange money for our China trip.  Sam recognized where we were and asked if we could go to the Book of Mormon Museum.  I has amazed that he remembered and knew where we were, so off we went to have some fun.
We love this place.  It is so fun.  The kids love playing on the computers, fishing from Nephi's Ship, playing in the kitchen and feeding the missionaries, dancing.....but building cities and destroying them was their favorite today.

Chloe decided it was nap time and made herself and little bed.  It was so cute!
